Travel: Genting Highlands Malaysia

Any trip to Malaysia will not be complete without visiting the Genting Highlands just 2 hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur. This place is well known for casinos and of course its unique weather due to its altitude and location (around 19 - 21 degrees) when we visited here. It was a joy ride getting here as we hired a private car and first thing we did, guess what? It's the cable car ride going to Resorts World Genting. We got lost around, having endless group selfies, savouring durian ice cream, sound tripping inside the cable car and indulge on local dishes and shopping on Nike outlets inside the mall. Genting Highlands is a perfect getaway spot in Malaysia, you can book hotels, go for a strawberry field day tour or even spend the whole day inside the casino. The place is easily accessible with many restaurants, cafes and shopping outlets to enjoy!

USS Halloween Horror Nights 2013

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Singapore is one of the most anticipated year end event in the island of Singapore. Imagine the whole theme park to be totally transformed into some kind of frightening & nerve wrecking designs & architectural genius all in one purpose- to let you scream and feel the spirit of halloween night. 

I got lucky to be with bunch of outgoing colleagues from Starhub who where all ready to yell out of their lungs & try all the horror booth without hesitation at all. 

Halloween Horror Nights event highlight including their much awaited Haunted Attractions: Adrift,

Songs of Death, House No. 13 Possessions, Attack of Vampires, Convention of Curses & Forbidden Forest.

Ticket prices range from $68 (General Admission) & $60 (Early Bird Rate). 

But if you don't have money issue, then better purchase the VIP express ticket as you will expect long qeue especially to those who don't have talent with patience.  Over-all experience was superb even though the ticket was a little pricey to be honest. But if you're up to the experience and more memories to cherish, this event is definitely a must try.

Luge & Skyride Sentosa May 2013

It was a fun & exciting day when we headed to Sentosa to be with our visiting friend Duke from Dubai for a short stay. We decided to bring him to Sentosa as one of the premier tourist spot for all visitors of Singapore. 

The Skyline Sentosa Luge is a unique wheeled gravity ride that provides riders full control over their descent on purpose built Luge track. It offers a fun family friendly adventure activity. After the Luge, board the Skyride chairlift and take in the fantastic panoramic scenery of the Singapore city skyline and beautiful coastline of Sentosa Island. Truly an experience not to be missed!

As darkness settles, a whole brand-new adventure awaits you. Thrill-seekers will discover a different challenge while riding down each Luge track with unique lightings. On the Skyride, enjoy a breathtaking view of Singapore as the city skyline and harbour transform into a dazzling city of lights at night.

The Sentosa Luge is a unique wheeled gravity ride that provides riders full control over their descent on purpose built track. The Luge is a fun adventure ride and all adrenaline-pumping excitement! Thrill-seekers can navigate the Jungle trail for a mystical forest adventure and then challenge the Dragon trail. Enjoy 1.2 kilometres of fun with your loved ones and feel the cool wind in your hair that will keep you coming back for more. Giving you full control, navigate down 650 metres of the Jungle Trail or 688 metre of the Dragon Trail as thrillingly fast or cruising slow as you like. 

For those who like to take things a little easier jump aboard the Skyride for a scenic adventure on a 4 seater chairlift that gives you a bird's eye view of the Singapore skyline and the South China Sea while engrossed in the natural habitat of Sentosa Island, you might also see the cheeky cockatoos that often entertain our guests.

GENTING MALAYSIA FEB 2013

Any Malaysian getaway vacation will never be complete without going to Genting Highlands. Genting is definitely one of the best places to visit in Malaysia with wide arrays of places, events & happenings to experience from casino, theme park, shopping & entertainment experience. For first timer, Genting Highlands is suitable for day trip if you happen to be in Kuala Lumpur or a minimum 2 nights stay to chill and relax. It is accessible by roads and coach.

My travel experience started in KL Sentral Bus Station going to Genting Highlands. But I ended up getting a taxi going there as the bus timing was inconvenient due to festive season (fully booked). I pursued going to Genting by a taxi driver offer of RM170 (2-way taxi ride) price. It was quite expensive but considering my limited time, I decided to go. 

My first stop was Chocolate Paradise, recommended by my taxi driver Eddy which was a cocoa boutique selling varities of special flavored chocolates. Prices were quite high but it's really good as pasalubong for friends. Then I went to Genting Skyway which was the entry point to Resorts World Genting. It was my first experience to ride a cable car & it was a big check for my bucketlist.

One-way ride will cost you RM6 so I took the 2-way ride at the ticket counter (RM12). I was amazed when I reached the place with their indoor theme park, vast hotels, casinos with crowds coming from all over the world. Genting is like Tagaytay or Baguio of Pinas due to its cool climate ranging from 16-24'C all year round.

I only gave myself 2 hours here so I quickly took photos of the whole area as much as I could. I satisfied my cravings for cupcakes, grabbed frappe in Starbucks & had some me-time moment.
