Food: Jalan Alor Street KL Malaysia

If you're in search for the best street food to get the taste of Malysian cuisine, well there's no better place the Jalan Alor in Kuala Lumpur. Here you will get the chance to get your belly full of various gastronomic Asian cuisine from seafoods to spicy noodles. It's my third here in Kuala Lumpur but my first time to finally visit this food haven, a street with with wide stretch of food stalls where you can just sit, eat, drink and simply enjoy.

Luckily I tried to eat here twice and it never failed to satisfy my food cravings at all. The food still considered well priced compare to average Singaporean food menu items. I just had too much satay, fried oyster and char kway teow and more Malaysian cuisines that still makes me salivate til now (LOL!) Here's what we ordered to show you how good food here was.

Travel: Genting Highlands Malaysia

Any trip to Malaysia will not be complete without visiting the Genting Highlands just 2 hours drive away from Kuala Lumpur. This place is well known for casinos and of course its unique weather due to its altitude and location (around 19 - 21 degrees) when we visited here. It was a joy ride getting here as we hired a private car and first thing we did, guess what? It's the cable car ride going to Resorts World Genting. We got lost around, having endless group selfies, savouring durian ice cream, sound tripping inside the cable car and indulge on local dishes and shopping on Nike outlets inside the mall. Genting Highlands is a perfect getaway spot in Malaysia, you can book hotels, go for a strawberry field day tour or even spend the whole day inside the casino. The place is easily accessible with many restaurants, cafes and shopping outlets to enjoy!

Travel: Petronas Twin Towers Malaysia

There's nothing more iconic in the heart of Kuala Lumpur City other than the Petronas Twin Towers. This magnificent architectural beauty located right in the city of KL is one of the most visited tourist destination in Malaysia. Connected to this building is the famous KLCC Shopping Centre where you can find some of the best luxury brands. There's also the Petronas Tower SkyBridge and Observation Deck that you can enjoy to capture the spires of Petronas Twin Towers and the Skylines of Kuala Lumpur. So here's a photo diary of how we truly enjoyed Petronas Twin Towers of Malaysia.

Food: Ben's KLCC

"TO EAT IS TO LOVE!" That's the line I will always remember dining in here at Ben's KLCC. It was recommendation from locals that we decided to have a dinner here after a long day spent at Batu Caves before heading back to our hotel. There's a long queue of hungry stomachs when we went here but the wait was totally worth it. We started ordering for quite long undecided of what to order. We all decided to try all their pasta menu offers. In just 15 minutes time, all foods were served and we had a sumptuous dinner accompanied by endless college memories congo with my closest friends.

Ben's Restaurant offers salads & soups, sandwiches, pastas, nibbles, main courses, Asian cuisines and fantastic desserts and drinks. If you happened to try Ben's I would highly recommend Beef Lasagna, Macaroni Cheese, Puttanesca and Seafood Pasta, and their Beef Bolognese Pasta too. So there you go, enjoy life through good food everyone!

Pulai Resort Restaurant Johor Malaysia

The best of part of any vacation will be the holiday feast most hotel chains would perfectly combine to the amenities of the resort like buffet breakfast and specialty restaurant. What else would be better than room service like what I have experienced at Pulai Resort Restaurant located at Johor Malaysia.

Your diet will be on vacation mode as well for I'm sure no one can resist all these food selections available in this restaurant. I'm not a totally fan of Malay food but I do love spicy foods so all the Malaysian food items I tasted here were worth every calories intake. Malay cuisine is somewhat similar to Pinoy food for their love with seafoods & local vegetables that seemed to be a staple food items in the menu, except for their one-of-a-kind chili paste that I will always crave for every meal time.

The morning buffet was also an intense morning eye opener for the wide selections of Asian, American & Western breakfast menu selections from the basic cereals & toasted breads down to their delectable dumplings & omelettes. I had some healthy options for this buffet and tried to taste the unusual ones I seldom eat back in Singapore.

So just drool over this liscious foods I had at Pulai Spring Resort Malaysia and forget about the diet thing just once in a while. Hope you enjoy this blog post.

Lotus Desaru Beach Resort Malaysia

If you're spotting for a great hideaway to unleash your stressful wok life or perhaps unwind on a weekend trip, this place located in Desaru Malaysia is the place to be. If considering budget & proximity of this place from Singapore, Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa offers nothing but the best of beach & recreational activities to all sun lovers out there. Spend your morning having breakfast with a beach view, take all the time for water fun rides and spend the night with a bottle of beers with friends are just some ideas you will surely enjoy in this beach haven.

From Singapore, you just need to take a 40 minute ferry ride to reach this destination, if going here in a group of like 5-6 persons, individual spending for a 3 bedroom villa will just cost you $30-40/ head. Since you have everything you need inside, a pocket money of $50-$100 SGD will be enough to buy finger foods, bottle of beers or spending a coffee session wit friends. A 3 days & 2 nights itinerary will be recommended to fully utilize the amenities of Lotus Desaru as they have swimming pools, water parks, seafood resto, awesome water rides & other sports activities of your interest.

So here's a photo diary of our awesome trip to Lotus Desaru Beach Resort with my Starhub colleagues early this year. Hope to come back here once more. Enjoy a life of travel to all my blog avid readers :)

Nando's Restoran

Finally I had a taste of this talked about Nando's Restoran in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. They actually do have an outlet here in Singapore but comparing SGD to RM price range, I bet you would prefer to try it in Malaysia. What makes Nando's Restoran special is that their chickens are marinated for 24 hours in its secret sauce until the flavour goes right through the bone. They're then flame-grilled and basted in your choice of Nando's Peri- Peri sauce. The result is ultimate perfection.

The have this what you call as the PERI-Ometer where you can choose your heat (spice level) before you eat. This varies from Lemon & Herb, Mild, Hot & Extra Hot Peri-Peri. They also have platters to share that is perfect for groups - sharing is what Nando's is all about (Meal, Full & Jumbo Platter). You can also make it as meal with their various sides options (chips, coleslaw, potato wedges, corn-on-the-cob, garlic bread, spicy rice & mediterranean rice & grilled vegetables).

With it's great customer service, relaxed ambience & practical price range, you should have a try of Nando's Restoran when you visit JB Sentral. We spent a total of RM 160.00 not bad for 4 person sharing (around $16/head).

Welcome to LEGOLAND® Malaysia!

Unleashing the kid part of us. For those who think Legoland was built for children alone, well one must visit this theme park & you'll realize its for big boys like us too, even better! All angles of this happy land are full of colors, lego bricks, fun & smile for everyone. I've been planning for so long to visit this place since it was opened last year, finally those plans came to life. Thanks to my frequent SG visitor Mark who came with me on this awesome adventure to Legoland. Such a lifetime & memorable experience.

We've tried Project X for countless times since this ride made us the most thrilling effect. Same with other roller coaster rides but not that exciting since it's made for kiddos most likely. What I admire the most is the Miniland part. It's like your having a grand tour of Asia where everything was made out of Lego bricks in a majestic & amazing ways. It took me sometime to digest all the iconic places & historical landmark of various countries the theme park portrayed. You will might as well try the infamous water rides that we weren't able to experience coz we didn't bring in extra clothes. All in all I could say my trip to Legoland reached my expectation or even beyond it. So book your tickets now & experience the best of Legoland.

LEGOLAND Malaysia is packed full of family fun with more than 40 rides, shows and attractions. Almost everything is hands-on, so you can push, pedal and program, or steer, squirt and splash, your way through a truly interactive experience – and of course there’s building too.

The centrepiece is MINILAND, where Asian landmarks have been recreated using more than 30 million LEGO bricks. It’s an interactive world on a scale of 1:20, where people, trains and aeroplanes come to life at the touch of a button.

Which child does not dream of becoming a knight, an explorer, a test driver or a pilot and entering into a fascinating world of adventure? At LEGOLAND® Malaysia, children can slip into the roles of their heroes and do things that normally only the grown-ups are allowed to do – like taking their first driving test, competing in a jousting tournament, jetskiing across the water at breakneck speed, or designing and programming LEGO® robots. It takes twelve hours just to ride on all the LEGOLAND attractions, watch all the shows and 4D films and take part in all the workshops – and that is just the actual ride and performance time.

LEGOLAND Malaysia, which opened to the public on 15th September 2012, is the sixth LEGOLAND to be built in the world and the very first in Asia. Designed for families with children between the ages of 2 and 12, LEGOLAND Malaysia features more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions. GENTING MALAYSIA FEB 2013

Any Malaysian getaway vacation will never be complete without going to Genting Highlands. Genting is definitely one of the best places to visit in Malaysia with wide arrays of places, events & happenings to experience from casino, theme park, shopping & entertainment experience. For first timer, Genting Highlands is suitable for day trip if you happen to be in Kuala Lumpur or a minimum 2 nights stay to chill and relax. It is accessible by roads and coach.

My travel experience started in KL Sentral Bus Station going to Genting Highlands. But I ended up getting a taxi going there as the bus timing was inconvenient due to festive season (fully booked). I pursued going to Genting by a taxi driver offer of RM170 (2-way taxi ride) price. It was quite expensive but considering my limited time, I decided to go.
My first stop was Chocolate Paradise, recommended by my taxi driver Eddy which was a cocoa boutique selling varities of special flavored chocolates. Prices were quite high but it's really good as pasalubong for friends. Then I went to Genting Skyway which was the entry point to Resorts World Genting. It was my first experience to ride a cable car & it was a big check for my bucketlist.

One-way ride will cost you RM6 so I took the 2-way ride at the ticket counter (RM12). I was amazed when I reached the place with their indoor theme park, vast hotels, casinos with crowds coming from all over the world. Genting is like Tagaytay or Baguio of Pinas due to its cool climate ranging from 16-24'C all year round.

I only gave myself 2 hours here so I quickly took photos of the whole area as much as I could. I satisfied my cravings for cupcakes, grabbed frappe in Starbucks & had some me-time moment.

KUALA LUMPUR MALAYSIA FEB 2013

Chinese New Year is one of the most celebrated time of the year in Singapore. Since we were given 3-day vacation, I decided to pursue my first major travel escapade this 2013 to finally see the famous Petronas Tower. Touchdown Kuala Lumpur.

My mode of transportation was very convinient as I can choose between land or air travel from SG to KL. I booked my two-way bus trip & 3D2N hotel accomodation that cost me less than $300 SGD.

I will admit that I had so much preparation for this in terms of my must-do list & ootd (outfit of the day) style over there. LOL!

I even challenged myself for a 250 MR challenge to see what I can eat, buy, & enjoy in KL with that amount. So here were my unforgettable journey in Malaysia.

I arrived at the bus station half an hour earlier to make sure I will not be on a hurry. Buy sadly I still waited for hours boarding not in my exact bus & seat no. due to festive season. So don't forget to bring a lot of patience :)

Another tip: It takes 2 stops (SG & MALAYSIA Immigration) so you need to take down the bus & don't forget your passport to be secured with you. Since it will be a long trip, don't forget to bring some snacks & liquids with you coz in my experience, I never had my dinner so the whole trip my stomach was empty.

Travel-friendly outfit.
(H&M hat, Giordano shirt, Kitschen pants, Everlast shoes, G-shock watch)
