Food: Healthy Diet 101

There's a great impact of the food that we intake that is directly proportional to our health status.
Recently I have been experiencing severe occasional stomach pain to consider of chronic ulcer, gastritis or stomach flu maybe. I have been so passive on my lifestyle esp on my food intake though I'm usually physically active (regular gym work outs and monthly marathon runs). I have realized that my daily meals are lacking of fresh, nutritious and organic food items that are essential to my healthy living needs.

So I came up with a solution that I wanna share with you guys. I don't usually cook and staying alone as an OFW here in Singapore is quite a dilemma especially when preparing meals due to hectic work schedules. So every Sunday (usually my off day) I'll take a time to do some grocery time to get some of my favorite fruits and vegetables that I love to eat. Most of the time, my prepared meals would consist of cherry tomatoes, cucumber, carrots, apple, lemon, broccoli, cauliflower  and okra. As my protein source, I will get some chicken breast, organic brown eggs and fish balls for add-ons. I will prepare a 1 week ready to eat meals that I can just bring out of the fridge and re-heat for a quick meal. You can do some variations of course as it's honestly quite boring to eat these for long duration of time. This way, I can really see and monitor what I eat and will really help you lose weight and stuff your body with all the need nutrients and vitamins for a healthy and active life.

Fashion: In Warm Neutrals

Beige, sand, khaki, camel or brown. However you want to call it, this recurring F/W colour trend is one of my ultimate favourite! I just love everything in nude or brown colors recently. You guys know that for the longest time I simple more obsessed with black and white fashion look. I guess my minimalist fashion sense of style is gradually shifting into more alternative color tone options. This look may look simple having them separated individually but by carefully choosing every color pallete of your fashion pieces, it can be strikingly simple but fashionable of course. This look was even posted on Zalora's Singapore official Instagram account. Such a great OOTD accomplishment for me.

Food: Ningyocho Noodle Bar

So this was my first dinner meal in Tokyo Japan and the first time I tried an authentic ramen and udon noodle, it was unforgettable indeed! I can still vividly remember that unique taste that you can't find even in the fanciest Japanese restaurant here in Singapore. It has a typical noodle bar along the street near our hotel and that first experience ordering via a vending machine was such a great and funny experience. I can honestly say that Japanese food will always be my first love with its wide variety of taste and culinary expertise. What else would you ask for if your noodle is comes with hand crafted local beers. I'm sure all calories intake is worth taking in if you're in Japan especially here at Ningyocho  Noodle Bar.

Travel: Snow Monkey Forest

The Snow Monkey Forest located in Jigokudani in Nagano Japan was my first winter hike experience of my life.  The journey going to this place requires train and bus ride and some 1.8 km walk along the mountain side until you reach the Snow Monkey Forest. Whenever I travel, I do make sure that my travel itineraries  will include activities that I have never tried before. I was fully dressed up winter-ready to make sure my body temperature was stabilized along the trip. It was exhausting but the view of the place was definitely worth the hike. I was amazed of the picturesque view of the pine trees, mountains covered in snow, and traditional Japanese houses that I can only see on paintings and books before. And of course you'll gonna love all the monkeys bathing in the onsen too. Snow Monkey Forest is definitely one of the best travel spot that I can recommend to visit if you'll be in Tokyo Japan.

This look reminded me of how winter OOTD can be a challenge not only focusing on your style but with it's comfort and versatility too. On this look, I'm wearing leather winter black coat from Zara Man and black jeans from Pull & Bear.  I used blue sneakers from Adidas Stan Smith and maroon bag from Herschel. I'm using beanie from Topman and cover-up from Zalora Singapore. This style ensemble was inspired by my minimalist instinct with my fashion looks.

Travel: Oakridge Vineyard Australia

It has always been my dream to see a vineyard one day and it all came to life when we visited Oakridge Vineyard in Melbourne Australia. It was our last day in the city thinking of what could be that best place to visit out of many tourist spots to see in Melbourne. It was 2 hours drive away from our hotel in The Langham and we were lucky enough to make it in time to have some wine tasting inside the vineyard guest area and wine shop. We ended up strolling the vineyard with our GoPro out making sure we were able to capture the best view of these wineries and getting a little tipsy with all those varieties of wines we were lucky enough to get a taste of.

I'm wearing Forever 21 plaid shirt and khaki from Factorie Singapore. I paired it with black woven sneakers from Pull & Bear and snap back from Cotton On.  I used my brown leather watch from Fossil and bracelets from Coach & LV. Travel: Hosier Lane

Hosier Lane is a bluestone cobbled vehicular and pedestrian laneway on the southern edge of the central city grid. Hosier lane is a much celebrated landmark mainly due to its sophisticated Urban art.
Hosier Lane lies opposite the entrance to the Atrium at Federation Square on Flinders St, a prominent position in the city.

The lane has been noted for the quality and the often political nature of its art. It features in the state-sponsored book The Melbourne Design Guide and in Tourism Victoria's Lose Yourself in Melbourne advertising campaign, leading to questions about the dichotomy of Victoria's approach to graffiti. The graffiti-covered walls and art-installations have become a popular backdrop for fashion and wedding photography.

Hosier Lane is also known for its upmarket cocktail lounges including the popular Misty and MoVida. An open air cooking session with MoVida's chef Frank Camorra on Masterchef Australia season 2 showcased the lane as a major Melbourne attraction.

Fashion: Dare to Denim

Adding fashion flavor for a twist like leather and denim can be a big dilemma. When it comes to matching leather and denim together, you have to take into consideration on these two strong opposing fashion staples when pulling out in one look. This jacket from Zara Man was the perfect fashion piece on the cold and windy day tour at the 12 Apostles. I failed in realizing the need to wear denim pants just so for my love on this navy shorts from Uniqlo Singapore. I'm wearing a simple white inner cotton shirt from Giordano and paired it with my Nike techni - color running shoes. I was wearing snap back from Billabong ang classic aviator from Ray-ban. That sporty and edgy type of fashion look that I was trying to achieve was definitely showing on this OOTD taken all the way from Australia. Don't be afraid to add some leather and denim in your style, just be yourself and get the best look out of your creative imagination.

Travel: 12 Apostles Australia

The picturesque beauty of 12 Apostles! The Twelve Apostles is a collection of limestone stacks off the shore of the Port Campbell National Park, by the Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Australia. Their proximity to one another has made the site a popular tourist attraction. Currently there are eight apostles left, the ninth one of the stacks collapsed dramatically in July 2005. The name remains significant and spectacular especially in the Australian tourism industry.

The apostles were formed by erosion: the harsh and extreme weather conditions from the Southern Ocean gradually eroded the soft limestone to form caves in the cliffs, which then became arches, which in turn collapsed; leaving rock stacks up to 50 metres high. Now because of this erosion there are fewer than ten remaining. The site was known as the Sow and Piglets until 1922 (Muttonbird Island, near Loch Ard Gorge, was the Sow, and the smaller rock stacks were the Piglets); after which it was renamed to The Apostles for tourism purposes. The formation eventually became known as the Twelve Apostles, despite only ever having nine stacks.

The 12 Apostles was one of the best works of nature I have ever witnessed in my life. It was hours of travel by road from Melbourne City but it was all worth it. This place is indeed one of a kind. It's the top 1 on my list to visit in Australia. What made it even more exciting was my helicopter ride experience where I had the 360 degrees view of the place. It was truly unforgettable!

Fashion: Hoodie Weather

It was a hoodie weather in Melbourne when I came up with this look. Our first agenda in the city was to take a good breakfast before we ticked off our bucket list one of the most daring adventure of my life- sky diving. We were at St. Kilda Beach strolling around this vibrant city and came across this bicycle that I used as the perfect accesory for this look. I'm wearing this statement gray hoodie from Pull & Bear and navy blue shorts from Uniqlo. It was a day of adventure so I made sure of wearing my most athletic multi-colored running shoes from Nike. I finished it off with snapback from Billabong and Aviator from Ray-Ban.

Food: Papa Goose Melbourne

Papa Goose was our first food escapade in Melbourne. It was almost late when we reached the city and was trying to find for a good restaurant to satisfy our hungry stomach after a full day activity in Australia. We rented a private car and asked for the driver's assistance to drop us to any of Melbourne's best food place for late dinner. We ended up strolling the full stretch of the street ending up here at Papa Goose. It was a modern British inspired restaurant that serves some of the best menu items in British cuisine with a twist of Australian gastronomic delicacies. I totally forgot all the names of the food that we ate here but will try to remember the names of it including the prices to give you more info. But what I can't forget was the culinary experience that we had as all the foods served to us were seriously the best of its taste and culinary originality. The staff who served us was the friendliest F&B staff I have ever encountered and the restaurant ambience was just so perfectly designed for that eat-well-more-convo-mood. We went out of this resto with smile on our faces with our tummy completely satisfied including for what we paid for.

Food: Bennelong Sydney Australia

Bennelong serves to celebrate The Sydney Opera House and its extraordinary architecture by offering a culturally significant and inspiring menu showcasing a most magnificent production of Australian food and wine.

Sometime over 200 years ago, Bennelong Point was a tidal rock island in the heart of the Gadigal lands. It has been said this was a location for Aboriginal women to congregate on the rising tide, eat shellfish by the fire and tell stories.

Bennelong Point is recorded as the largest midden found in Australia. Sometime after British settlement, these midden shells were burned and crushed to manufacture lime required to build Government house.

Government House soon became a centre for communication between Aborigines and colonists, mostly due to a man called Bennelong who befriended Governor Phillip and was the first Aboriginal person to live voluntarily in the settlement.

Bennelong came from the Wangal clan on the southern side of the Parramatta River, and was married to a woman by the name of Barangaroo. Bennelong, who was a great dancer and mimic, became a figurehead for relations between Aborigines and the colonists, and lived in a house built on this harbour-point.

Bennelong Restaurant is built on a site enriched with history of communal eating and telling stories. We invite you to create your own story in one of the most recognisable buildings in the world.

Fashion: Minimalist Monday

When it comes to fashion, Minimalism is what I'm mastering recently in terms of it's style technicality. It's not always just about black and white, you simply just have to know the color pattern combination and envision it in your fashion pieces to create that minimalistic look. While I was in Sydney strolling the Harbour Bay area, I can't help but to strike this OOTD look. Im wearing an inner V neck shirt from Armani Exchange and covered it with denim blue shirt from Oxygen Philippines. To create that minimal look, I paired it with white pants from Pull & Bear and my classic white Converse sneakers. To finish off this look, I used a two toned cap from Aeropostale, aviators from Ray-Ban and leather watch from Fossil and lastly brown leather bracelet from Coach.

Travel: St. Mary's Cathedral Sydney

St Mary’s Cathedral stands in the centre of Sydney as a Christian statement of grace and beauty. Generations of artists have bequeathed to it their magnificent gifts in stone and glass, designing a unique space of solace and prayer within this vibrant city. This Cathedral represents the spiritual origins of the Catholic Church in Australia. It is one of Sydney's most treasured historic buildings and one of the finest examples of English-style gothic churches in the world. William Wilkinson Wardell, the 19th century architect, dreamed of a gothic structure shaped from the local yellow-block sandstone on which this city is built. The building was finally completed 100 years after the architect's death. The Cathedral is dedicated to Mary Help of Christians.

Food: Quay West Suites Sydney

We stayed in Sydney at the beautiful and luxurious apartment at Quay West Suites located in the heart of CBD area. They have the best view of the Sydney Opera House and of course, the best Aussie breakfast too. I love food explorations trying out new cuisines and get myself stuffed with the best food one country can offer. I noticed that Australian breakfast primarily consist of cars mainly coming from  bread & pastries and protein sources like sunny side up, sausages and of course coffee and fresh fruit juices should not be missed out. Really liked their fresh raisin bread & this Vegemite spread which originated here in Australia. They even have kangaroo meat and wide selections of cheeses and desserts. You will surely not skip early morning breakfast at Quay West Suites Sydney.

Travel: Bondi Beach Sydney Australia

Here we go! Home sweet home from Bondi Beach in Sydney Australia!
Once upon a time I was only looking at this cinematic view in Tumblr and Instagram
And from where I stood in taking this photo, it was a surreal experience to finally visit
Bondi Iceberg. I was blown away by its beauty and just watched the waves for minutes.

Bondi Beach is truly a paradise for surfers in Australia. The Aussie culture, the vibrant summer feels and it's natural picturesque scenery made me loved this place at first sight. It's one my top tourist spot in Sydney especially for beach lovers out there, you'll surely have a hard time to leave the place.

The nerve. Always making me question why people settle in just one place, if there's more places in the world like this that will truly blow your mind away!

Fashion: Undercover in Opera House

What will you wear if you'll visit your dream destination like Sydney Opera House? I was thinking at first of having my most formal attire to compensate on the grandiosity of this iconic architectural tourist spot in Sydney but still ended up wearing my personal style kind of look. I love black color and it's obviously my kind of style recently. I wanted to achieve that minimalist and sporty look on this OOTD, so here's what I came up with. I was wearing plain white V neck shirt from Zalora Singapore and paired it with my ever reliable skinny jeans from Pull & Bear. I used this gray bomber jacket from Zara Man as I'm literally freezing to Sydney's temperature at night (around 11 degrees).
I used my woven leather sneakers from Pull & Bear and snap back from Cotton On. I finished my look with some accessories (Fossil watch & Coach bracelet). So there you go, it's simple but its fashion statement was still striking. More fashion blog post for you guys soon so just keep on reading my blogs. Happy Vesak Day to everyone.

Travel: Australia 2015

It was my first time to visit this country from down under. Welcome to Australia! It was one of the most memorable travel experience since I'm with the most precious people around me. It started from a random plan that turned out to be a reality, our most awaited friendship travel goal! It was a big surprise when I realized that they booked a business class ticket via Singapore Airlines (first timer here!) It was such a  great flight experience on board for almost 7 hours from Singapore Changi Airport to Sydney. We all had some good dinner at the airport lounge before boarding, served with bottomless champagne during the flight with world- class food for breakfast and of course SIA's best customer service, it was indeed the best flight so far. Sydney then greeted me the next day and can't wait to share more travel experience with you so just keep on following my blog for more of my Australia travel adventure.

Fashion: Aussie Beach Stroll

That's the beauty of the beach, where there's no other place to get that perfect OOTD shot.
Good morning from Bondi Beach in Australia! The beach life from down under was calling me to grab my best summer outfit and take it the Aussie way. It was way colder that what I expected when I went here last November 2016 but of course the cold never bothered me anyway.

Here's my first day in Sydney and I wanted a simple yet stylish and fashion appropriate look on this location. I was wearing striped tank top from Zara Man and paired it with beach shorts from Cotton On. Instead of wearing my usual flip flops, I decided to use my old time fave white sneakers from Converse. To finish my look, I added statement cap from Penshoppe, classic aviator from Ray-Ban and white beach bag from Factorie Singapore.

So here's the random OOTD shot in Bondi Beach and it's pretty obvious that I had so much fun here. Watch out for more fashion, food & travel blogs on the start of my Australia blog features and more to come so just keep on reading my blog everyone.

Food: Leslie's Tagaytay

It's good to be back in one of my favorite place in the Philippines, the city of Tagaytay. After the Zoukout session in Boracay, right after arriving at NAIA, we went straight to Sky Ranch in Tagaytay City, just 2 hours travel by car from Manila. I was dying to have a taste of all the local Filipino dishes that I missed for almost a year of not going home in Pinas. We decided to have our lunch at Leslie's Restaurant I was really salivating when all the foods were served. We had grilled tilapia, mango salad, kare-kare, chopsuey and Bulalo for the win. Were we're not able to finish it all and was able to take out of the left over as their lunch deal for Php 5,500 pesos good for 10 persons were seriously enough for all our cravings. Leslie's Restaurant is one of the trusted food establishment in the Philippines for that authentic Filipino cuisines to need to have a taste of. Proudly Pinoy!
