Travel: US Visa Application

This visa approval deserves a special blog post! After posting this online, several friends of mine sent random messages congatulating me for having this and curious questions as well on how to apply for a US Visa. Well, will definitely share with you more detailed steps to make sure you're US touris visa will be approved without a hassle. Due to the recent visa technical difficulty across various US embassy around the world, this visa was delayed for almost 22 days before the issuing date was updated. Definitely worth the wait, considering the multiple entries with a span of 10 years visa validity, this for me was such a great blessing. Having that American dream, it's finally making it's way to a dream-come-true-moment for me! I don't have a tentative date yet for my US trip, hopefully this year but will surely be one of my travel highlight thus far! Happy weekend to all ;)

Delta Hostel Hongkong

Let's admit that often times we just feel like staying in a hostel where we can securely leave our luggage bags & sleep over place if you're on a hectic full day tour itinerary especially here in Hong Kong where in we usually go back to hotel, motel or hostel for a good 7 hours sleep to make it up for another day of tour once more. 

Don't you just love the idea that everything we need can be simple done online even booking of hotels & travel needs with just a click of a button. I prefer using Agoda for accomodation necessities and Expedia to check the latest travel deals. During my recent trip to Hong Kong, I decided to try a back packers kind of travel style so I opted to book a hostel, a decent one which I based to customer reviews.

Upon arrival at the hostel, it wasn't the best as what I expected but having someone in the front desk to accommodate us was a big yes for me. The hostel has not much of that fancy excellent service that you'll expect in some five start hotels but if you wanna stay in inexpensive accommodations so you can spend it on good food and the sights then this hostel will be a great place to stay in Hong Kong.

Hongkong Nightlife Guide

Are you curious of what Hong Kong can offer for all the night lovers out there? I'm not only talking about bar hopping or just simply watching the famous light shows along the Avenue of Stars at night. There are several ways to explore & enjoy the city of Hong Kong & through this blog post, I will share to you all on how I spent my 3 nights in the most awesome way possible. So let's see what I've got for you my dear avid blog followers.

Breakfast in Hongkong

One of the best breakfast will be in Hong Kong where you will always have the best noodles & tea options for a great day kick start. Let me give you an idea on how to get the best breakfast in Hong Kong for budget friendly but not sacrificing the food quality. 

Hong Kong has their hawker food centre version of Singapore they call as Dai Pai Dongs (Hong Kong Street Food). Usually it has no name & frequently move locations but there are some best areas to find some good quality breakfast to experience city's unique experience. 

Some of the best known places to visit will be Graham Street, Temple Street, Haiphong Street, Hau Fook Street & Causeway Bay. Most of breakfast offerings in Hong Kong will be the wide varieties of noodles from dry to noodles soup. You can also choose sandwiches or rice meals of your preference. I will recommend dumpling or beef brisket noodle soup. Instead of having your usual morning cup of coffee, you can also go for iced milk tea or red bean milk drink to counteract the hot noodle soup. 

                                                    

Ocean Park Hongkong

If you think Disneyland is the only happiest place in Hong Kong, well guess what? Ocean Park has something to let you experience before deciding which is which.  Iv'e finally got the chance to experience Ocean Park with my recent vacation in Hong Kong and was amazed on how this place was able to fully integrate theme park, awesome rides, endangered animal shows all into one gigantic park.

I love how it feels to be in a place wherein 360 degrees view will totally fulfill your visual appetite. No wonder how this place can be do crowded during peak season & definitely a tourist spot you should't miss out in Hong Kong.

Kowloon Park Hongkong

In case you need a peaceful place or maybe a quick jog before starting off a day tour while in Hong Kong, then Kowloon Park is a place to visit. Looking at the lush greens while walking around this park, you'll definitely appreciate how this place could relax your mind that you even want to read a book while seating in one of the bench having a cup of coffee here.

What's good about this little paradise is that you wouldn't expect having this place in the city of Hong Kong wherein most sceneries will be the concrete skyscrapers & busy streets of Nathan Road. No wonder why it is one of the most popular attraction in Hong Kong. It is easy to reach in approximately 30 minutes from the Star Ferry & alongNathan Road to the park entrance. You can spend as pleasant afternoon in the park listening to street musicians. If you have time you can visit this place & you will be surprised at the history of the area. Within the park there are swimming pools, aviary, tranquil lakes & fountains just behind Nathan Road. Nearest MTR stations are Jordan & Tuan Sha Tsui.

Macau 2014

It's nice to be back in Macau again since I first visited this place back in 2012. Whenever you visit Hong Kong since it's just a ferry ride away, you shouldn't miss the Las Vegas of Asia. This place is definitely a bucket list for everyone as Macau offers nothing but the best of entertainment & ultimate travel experience from night life to their must see tourist spot like Venetian Macau & Ruins of St. Paul's 

I made a day tour in Macau on a Saturday & will share with you my travel photo diary and will share some tips on must see & eat in Macau. From Hong KOng, you have to take a ferry ride at Hong Kong Central Ferry Terminal (ferry price range 120- 200 HKD). We took the Cotai Water Jet for a 45 min ride to Taipa Ferry Terminal & went straight ahead to Holiday Inn Macau to meet a friend working there. We spent an hour strolling around Holiday Inn, Sands & Sheraton Hotel.

We had some authentic Chinese noodles for late lunch (food price range75-150 HKD) & afterwards we spent the rest of the day taking some touristy photo shoots inside the ever stunning Venetian Macau interior. I never got tired looking around the busy crowd panic shopping, burning cash in casinos & enjoying the man made cloud view & the famous boat ride in the Venetian. We also went outside to catch the night scene of Macau & I was still captivated by the view overlooking Hard Rock, City of Dreams & Crown Hotel with its amazing night scenery.

You don't have to worry about transportation here in Macau as most of hotels here offer free shuttle ride . Going inside the hotels, casinos & malls requires no specific requirements or entrance fee so you can go everywhere you want. Even though we wanted to go more places but due to time limitations, we weren't able to visit other famous tourist spot like Macau Tower & Macau Museums & famous churches. The cost of living in Macau is similar with Hong Kong so if you're planning for a day tour here, a pocket money of $300 SGD or Php 10,000 will be enough.

Murphys Irish Pub Hongkong

 The nightlife experience in Hong Kong will always be the highlight of anyone's trip as  they have the best of pubs, rest bar & disco house in Asia. Since I'm feeling old enough for some bar hopping trip, I've decided to check out on some nearby pubs along Nathan Road near the hostel I stayed. Located at the basement of Imperial Hotel, PJ Murphy's Irish Pub & Restaurant is a must- try in Hong Kong.

If you like an Irish style laid-back feel while having the widest selection of drinks, then this is the place to be. I remembered when I visited Dubai & happened to visit the Irish Pubs there, this place have the same ambience as I imagined it would be better to drink here with your friends enjoying some bottles of beers . I had the famous Screaming Orgasm which is a popular party shot made of vodka, amaretto, coffee, and Irish cream liquor.

Alcoholic drink prices will range form $75- $150 HKD. Most of their patrons will definitely expat & that night there were only few people around so we were served & assisted well by the staff over there. Luckily, both are also Filipinos and we had some little talks about their life in Hong Kong as Overseas Filipino workers. So grab a bottle of your choice & have some unforgettable night only at PJ Murphy's Irish Pub & Restaurant.

Victoria Peak Hongkong

It was such an unforgettable experience to reach the ultimate peak experience at Hongkong's famous The Peak by the Peak Tram. It is one of the world's oldest & most popular railways reaching up to 1,300 feet above sea level. Upon reaching the peak, you will enjoy the stunning 360 degrees panoramic view of Hong Kong. You have to also try the Sky Terrace 428 standing at 428 meters above sea level where you can have the best scenic spot of Hong Kong. You will definitely love this trip so it should be part of any travel itinerary of you will be visiting the Treasure City.

The Peak Tram Sky Pass ticket will be $80 HKD and the Peak Tram ticket will be $40 HKD. But I will recommend to have the Sky Pass for its worth your money once you see the picturesque view of Hong Kong. The best time to go here will be around 3-4PM so that you can watch the beautiful sunrise & experience the breathtaking night view of the city. 

The Peak Tower offers various souvenir shops & some great dining experience. You can also bring your own water & snack in case you'll get hungry as it requires an energetic body to stroll around The Peak area. Since it's summer time, expect a lot of sweaty moments so be sure to wear something appropriately. The Peak Tram is open form 7AM- 12MN & the Sky Terrace is open from 10AM - 11PM except for Saturday / Sunday & PH (8AM - 11PM).

POSTCARDS FROM HONGKONG & MACAU

It's been a while since I had my blog post updated due to my hectic schedule last week but it was all worth it as I had the chance to take a 5-day vacation to Hongkong & Macau. Another milestone accomplished as I had so much of food & travel blog post coming soon to share with you guys. Of course, another big check off my bucket list for first time experiences I had in  this Hongkong / Macau travel escapade. So I'm sharing postcards of my trip to highlight my travel adventure.

We live in a world that is full of beauty, charm & adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
